Stroke is a disease that affects the arteries leading to, and within, the brain.  It occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot, or bursts (or ruptures).  When that happens, a part of the brain cannot get the blood and oxygen it needs, so it and the brain cells die.  Strokes are the third leading cause of death in Malaysia and is a significant cause of disability. Undoubtedly, it is a huge social and economic burden on society.

Join us on Tuesday, 21 September for ‘Stroke – Overview and Treatments’.  This webinar provides a look at the management of strokes through the eyes of a neurosurgeon.
